Packers lose Jordan Love, Christian Watson to injury, fall to Bears on walk-off FG and lock into NFC’s No. 7 seed

The Green Bay Packers suffered a tough loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 18, falling 24-22 on a last-second field goal. The defeat locked the Packers into the NFC’s No. 7 seed for the playoffs but also came with significant injuries to key players.

Quarterback Jordan Love exited the game in the first half after injuring his throwing elbow when he hit the ground while trying to avoid a sack. Initial reports suggest that the injury is not serious, and he is expected to recover in time for the playoffs.

Wide receiver Christian Watson also left the game in the first half with a non-contact knee injury. Further evaluation revealed a torn ACL, ruling him out for the rest of the season. Watson had been a key contributor for the Packers, recording 620 receiving yards and two touchdowns over 15 games.

Despite leading for most of the game, the Packers allowed the Bears to rally in the final minute, culminating in a game-winning field goal. The loss ended Chicago’s 10-game losing streak against Green Bay.

With the No. 7 seed secured, the Packers now turn their focus to the NFC wild-card round, where they will face the Philadelphia Eagles. Love’s availability and the team’s ability to adjust without Watson will be critical as they enter the postseason.
